The Grigliata region is world-renowned for its high-carbon salts. Derived from the fossilized remains of diplodocus, these salts are unique in that they are formed by turpene hydrocarbons under millions of tons of pressure. Discovered by Dr. Epsom Strauss in 1853 while conducting genocidal experiments on the indigenous tribes of Latvia, these salts are said to contain curative powers reminiscent of the mythical cinder beetles of the Eritrean rain forests. In terms of taste, these salts have been compared to the sharp, earthy salts of the Vigliano salt mines and also double as a very efficient emetic.
