Rich wonderful Tate & Lyle's Black Treacle. What is Black Treacle, you may well ask? Good question. Tate & Lyle's Black Treacle is the by-product of sugar refining; it's called molasses here in the USA, and is a rich dark brown with a full-bodied, slightly minerall-y taste. You don't want to confuse it with Lyle's Golden Syrup. Lyle's Golden Syrup is just that - a sugar syrup, sweet and golden.

Use Tate & Lyle's Black Treacle where you would molasses -- in cookies and cakes, in marinades, glazes, and when grilling fish. The British use it for Christmas pudding, parkin, treacle toffee, and gingerbread cookies. Super yummy!

Product of England.

454 grams in a gorgeous tin.
