Frantoio di Sommaia Extra Virgin Olive Oil

For nearly 200 years, the Martini Bernardi family has been producing extra virgin olive oil from their frantoio (olive press) in Florence. The family is careful to harvest the olives at the perfect level of maturity, carefully grinding them in a stone press, then using the slow speed centrifuge to gently extract the oil before storing it. Frantoio di Sommaia olive oil displays the distinctive label of the vermouth that the Martini Bernardi family produced at the turn of the century.
This unfiltered extra virgin olive oil is deeply green with a creamy texture. It is initially sweet, followed by a fruity body and a slightly grassy, peppery finish. Traditionally, this olive oil is used as a condiment with steamed vegetables, drizzled over Tuscan beans, or used to dress a bed of fresh greens.
Product of Florence, Italy.
